Dunamis Owerri Central in Imo State celebrated its 13th anniversary with a grand thanksgiving service titled ‘Help from Above’.

During the service, ten individuals who successfully completed an eight-week Skill Acquisition Training were empowered with financial support. Some received ₦100,000, while others were given ₦150,000.

The State Pastor, Pastor Solomon Agbadi, delivered a powerful sermon emphasizing the importance of seeking help from God, describing it as an act of wisdom. He also highlighted the significance of acquiring skills, stressing that individuals should not solely rely on government jobs but should be self-sufficient.

The Skill Acquisition Training, which began on August 17, 2024, covered a wide range of skills, including tailoring, catering, digital marketing, soap making, shoemaking, hairdressing, barbing, hat making, computer training and painting. Out of over 150 registered participants, 40 individuals completed the program, with the final general class concluded on September 22 with a business plan lecture by Chinedu Nsofor.

Pastor Agbadi reminded the congregation that while financial empowerment is crucial, the knowledge gained through the training is also an empowerment tool for self-reliance. He added that not everyone would receive financial aid immediately, as the empowerment process would be carried out in batches, with the next phase starting before December. This is what church is all about.
