Pursuant to the provisions of the Mandate, Living Faith Church Worldwide’s constitutional and operational framework, Bishop David Olatunji Abioye and Bishop Thomas Aremu will exit their Vice Presidential roles within the Liberation Commission in October 2024.

It has been formally announced that Bishop Thomas Aremu’s valedictory service is slated to take place on Tuesday, 15th October 2024, at LFC Basorun, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Sources from Church Gist indicate that Bishop David Abioye’s valedictory service will be conducted in Durumi, Abuja on Friday, 18th October 2024.

Having first encountered Bishop Oyedepo in 1979, Bishop Abioye remained a loyal deputy until his deployment to lead one of the inaugural five branches in 1987. He achieved another milestone with his consecration in 1993 at Garden of Faith, Barnawa, Kaduna, becoming the youngest Bishop of a fully-fledged church at just 32 years old

Notably, Bishop Aremu, who shifted from a career as an accountant in secular organizations to full-time ministry, stands as the sole enduring bishop among the seven consecrated in November 1999 at Garden of Faith, Kaduna

This occasion is a landmark event, as it signifies the inaugural recognition and celebration of pastors who have rendered exemplary service to the Living Faith Church upon their retirement

The revised Mandate establishes 58 as the new retirement age, previously set at 60. The ages of Bishop Abioye and Bishop Aremu are 63 and 67, respectively. Hereafter, the Founder will hold the sole lifetime appointment, while subsequent Commission leaders will serve one or two 7-year terms, conditional upon Board approval. This change inaugurates a fresh phase in the Church’s operations, now approaching its fifth decade.
